Application process for Austrian citizenship

Initial consultation
(no time limit): We take the time to discuss with you whether you meet the requirements for Austrian citizenship and whether there are any obstacles to your application.

Appointment with the relevant authority
The waiting times for an application appointment with the relevant authorities are currently between 2 weeks and 6 months. The longest waiting times are at MA 35 in Vienna. As the Citizenship Act clearly states that applications for Austrian citizenship can only be made in person, the applicant must attend this appointment in person.

Preparing the application documents
We will provide you with a tailor-made list of the documents you need to submit to the authorities for your application. Just as every CV is unique, the application documents for applying for Austrian citizenship also vary.

Accompaniment to the application appointment
We will accompany you to the relevant authority when you apply for Austrian citizenship and ensure that the application process runs smoothly and stress-free for you.

Citizenship test
You will be invited by the authorities to take the citizenship test. We will inform you about the test procedure and coordinate the appointment for you.

Communication with the authorities and submission of additional documents
Even though we try to prepare your application as thoroughly as possible, it often happens that the authorities request additional documents after the application has been submitted. We handle all communication with the authorities on your behalf and ensure that all documents are submitted on time.
