‘Permanent residence EU’ vs Austrian citizenship

For many people who have been living in Austria for a long time and are well integrated, the question arises as to whether it makes sense to apply for Austrian citizenship and/or a ‘permanent residence EU’ residence title. The answer to which option is better depends on numerous individual factors that cannot be answered in general terms. The overview provided here is intended to offer initial guidance in making a decision.
